Engineer the data flow and operating controls

Principles and method
Map how the fictional candidate record moves from research to outreach, assessment, offer and handover. Identify record ownership, access, retention decisions, source references and suppression preferences. Design one low-risk automation, such as preparing an interview pack for review. Include duplicate events, missing data, an incorrect attachment, an unavailable reviewer and a candidate withdrawal in your test cases. Show who can pause the workflow and how state is reconciled. This is a design exercise, not permission to process real personal information or deploy a production integration.
Worked example
A withdrawal arrives after a pack has been queued. The workflow checks the current candidate state immediately before sending, cancels the queued action and records the reason. A past approval cannot override the newer withdrawal.
Put it into practice
Create a data diagram, permissions table, risk register, workflow specification and five exception-test results using fictional records.
Use fictional information and keep your work in your own notes.
Compare your approach: self-review guidance
Score data minimisation, permission boundaries, current-state checks, recovery and auditability from 0 to 3. Demonstrate at least one stopped action and one successful manual continuation. A diagram without test evidence should score no more than 2.
